These heavy duty rubble sacks are made from woven polypropylene with an 11 x 10 weave construction, giving them the tear resistance needed for sharp, heavy material like broken brick, concrete, and hardcore. If you have ever watched a cheap bag split halfway across a skip run, you will appreciate why the weave density matters. Available in two sizes, 60 x 90cm and 80 x 120cm, they come in packs of 10 and are suited to anyone clearing a site, garden, or renovation job without wanting to make three trips for every one bag.
The drawstring tops mean you can tie each sack off once it is full, which keeps dust and debris contained during handling and makes stacking and disposal tidier. No loose rubbish spilling back out when you lift them. On a busy site that is a small detail that makes a real difference at the end of a shift.
Woven polypropylene is the right material for this job. It does not degrade the way paper or standard plastic bags do when they get wet, and it holds its shape under load. These rubble sacks are also reusable, so if the job involves moving material in stages or the bags are not filled to capacity, you can shake them out and use them again rather than tearing through a whole pack in a day.
Where These Rubble Sacks Get Used
The 60 x 90cm size suits tighter jobs where you need manageable loads, particularly when sacks are being carried by hand up stairs or through narrow doorways during a strip-out. The 80 x 120cm sacks are better suited to outdoor work, landscaping, and situations where a barrow or machine is doing the shifting, so you can load more in one go without worrying about the bag letting you down.
Builders, groundworkers, landscapers, and general labourers all reach for rubble sacks regularly. They work for bagging up plasterboard offcuts, tiles, soil, gravel, sand, and mixed demolition rubble. They are equally useful for garden clearance, skip-loading, and general tidying of a work area at the end of the day. Having ten in a pack means there is always a sack to hand rather than hunting around the van.
The woven construction also means these sacks are a step up from the thin, glossy polythene alternatives that puncture on contact with a sharp edge. When the contents are broken tiles, flint, or fractured render, that difference in material quality is the difference between the job going cleanly and the contents ending up on the floor.
At this price point, keeping a couple of packs on the van or in the site store makes sense. Rubble sacks are one of those consumables that run out at the worst possible moment, and having a reliable stock of heavy duty ones means the job does not stop for a trip to the merchant.
Pro Tip: When filling these sacks with heavy material like concrete or stone, keep loads to around a third of the bag's volume so the sack stays manageable to lift and the drawstring closure is not under excessive strain.
