These metal jigsaw blades are built for cutting through steel, aluminium and non-ferrous metals without burning through blades every five minutes. Two variants cover the full range of metal thicknesses you’re likely to encounter on site or in the workshop. The T118A handles sheet metal cutting — mild steel, stainless steel up to 2mm, non-ferrous metals, and Perspex up to 8mm. The T118B steps up for thicker material, tackling mild and stainless steel from 3–6mm, plus aluminium and non-ferrous metals from 3 to 10mm. Both are HSS (High Speed Steel), which holds an edge far longer than standard carbon blades when working through metal.

The T118A runs at 21 TPI with a 1.2mm tooth pitch and a 15mm cutting length. That fine tooth count is what keeps cuts clean and controlled in thin sheet — push a coarser blade through 1mm steel and you’ll know about it. The T118B drops to 13 TPI with a 2.0mm tooth pitch and a 50mm cutting length, giving you the gullet space to clear swarf properly in thicker sections without the blade loading up and stalling mid-cut.

Where These Metal Jigsaw Blades Get Used

Sheet metalwork, site fabrication, HVAC installations, electrical containment, roofing trim, and any job that involves cutting through metal profiles or flat sheet. The T118A is particularly useful for cutting Perspex and acrylic panels cleanly, which is a handy thing to know if you’re doing shopfit or signage work. The T118B is the one to reach for when you’re cutting thicker aluminium extrusions or steel bar stock — anything where a fine blade would just skate about and get hot.

Shank Compatibility

Both blades use a standard T-shank fitting, which is the universal mount accepted by the vast majority of jigsaws on the market. Bosch, Makita, DeWalt, Milwaukee — if it’s a T-shank machine, these will fit. Worth confirming if you’re running an older jigsaw that may use a U-shank instead.

Sold in packs of 5, these metal jigsaw blades are sensibly priced for trade use. Keep a mix of both variants in the bag and you’ve got the sheet metal work covered from thin gauge right up to 10mm non-ferrous without swapping suppliers.

Pro Tip: When cutting stainless steel with the T118A, use a slow jigsaw speed setting and apply a small amount of cutting fluid to the blade — stainless work-hardens quickly under heat and will blunt HSS blades faster than mild steel if you run them dry at full speed.
