A zinc washers mixed tray is one of those things you don’t think about until you need a washer and haven’t got one. Then you need three. This 291-piece assortment covers three washer types in zinc plated, clear passivated steel, giving you a broad selection ready to go without digging through a drawer full of loose hardware that mostly turns out to be the wrong size.

Zinc plating gives these washers solid protection against rust and corrosion in everyday conditions. Clear passivation adds a further layer, slowing oxidation and keeping the finish clean. For most indoor fixing work, timber construction, workshop jigs, general assembly, and light outdoor jobs in sheltered positions, this level of protection is more than adequate.

What’s in the Zinc Washers Mixed Tray

Three washer types make this tray genuinely useful across a range of applications rather than just padding the count with duplicates of one size. Form washers, flat washers, and spring washers each do a specific job, and having all three to hand means you’re not substituting one type for another and hoping it holds.

Flat washers spread the load under a bolt head or nut, protecting the surface and giving a clean bearing face. Form washers, sometimes called penny washers, have a larger outer diameter and are useful where the fixing hole is oversized or you need a wider bearing area. Spring washers add tension to a fixing, helping resist loosening caused by vibration or thermal movement. Three different jobs, all in one tray.

The Tray Itself

The compartmentalised tray keeps everything separated and visible. It’s the kind of thing that sits in a van drawer or on a shelf and actually gets used, rather than a bag of mixed fasteners that clumps into a single mass within a week. The zinc washers mixed tray format works because you can see what you’ve got, grab what you need, and put the tray back without turning the job into a sorting exercise.

At this price and quantity, it makes sense as a top-up purchase alongside screw trays, bolt trays, or nut assortments. Washers are cheap until you don’t have the right one on site, at which point they cost you a trip to a merchant.

Pro Tip: Keep a spare form washer or two in your apron pocket when fitting to thin sheet material or plasterboard fixings, the larger bearing area makes a real difference to pull-through resistance.
