The 2.5m PVC corner angle bead is one of those products that gets taken for granted right up until the moment you use a cheap one and spend the next hour chasing a wavy corner across a freshly set coat. This is the straightforward solution for forming clean, true external angles on plastered walls and ceilings, and it does its job without any fuss. Available in 6mm, 10mm and 15mm nose profiles to suit different render depths and plaster thicknesses, so there’s a size here for most standard applications.

PVC beads have largely replaced their galvanised steel equivalents on interior work for good reason. They don’t rust, they’re lighter to handle, and they won’t cause staining through thin topcoats months after the job is done. On site, that matters more than it sounds. You can cut them cleanly with a fine-toothed saw or decent snips, and the material holds its shape without warping or kinking during installation — which makes setting out long runs considerably less aggravating than it used to be.

Where PVC Corner Angle Bead Earns Its Keep

These beads are used extensively by plasterers, drylining contractors and renderer working on new builds, refurbishments and renovation projects. They’re appropriate for both gypsum plaster and sand and cement render, and they bond well with bonding compounds and adhesive dabs. The perforated flanges allow the plaster to key through and lock the bead firmly in place once set. The result is a corner that rules out straight, stays that way, and gives the decorator a clean edge to work back from.

Sold by the box at trade prices, with bulk discounts available for larger orders. The box quantities vary by profile size, so if you’re pricing a large job or need to stock up for a run of properties, get in touch for a volume quote. The per-unit cost at volume makes this an easy product to keep on the van.

Pro Tip: When fixing PVC corner bead with adhesive dabs, press it back firmly with a straight rule along the full length before the dabs go off — any bow in the bead at this stage will be very difficult to correct once the first coat is on.
