Drill the hole to the specified diameter and depth for your anchor rod or bolt. Clean the hole thoroughly — brush it out, blow it clear, and repeat. Any dust or moisture left in the hole will reduce bond strength, and this is the step most people rush.Fit the static mixing nozzle and dispense the first 10–15ml to waste before filling the hole. Fill from the bottom up, pulling the nozzle back as resin fills, then insert the anchor rod with a slow rotating motion to ensure full contact. Allow to cure fully before loading — cure time varies with temperature, so check the datasheet for your conditions.

Can I use the Rawlplug R-KEM II in hollow blocks or cavity brickwork?
Not directly. The R-KEM II is designed for solid substrates — non-cracked concrete, solid brick, and dense block. In hollow or perforated materials you would need a mesh sleeve to retain the resin while it cures. Without one, the resin flows into the voids and the bond is unreliable.
What is the difference between the standard and winter versions?
The winter version has a faster cure profile and can be used at temperatures down to -20°C. The standard version will cure more slowly in cold conditions, and below a certain temperature it may not cure properly at all. If you're working in winter on exposed or unheated sites, the winter grade is the one to order.
Can I save a part-used cartridge for a later job?
Yes. Remove the used mixing nozzle after you have finished, replace the cap on the cartridge, and store it according to the datasheet. Before your next use, fit a brand new nozzle and dispense the first portion to waste to ensure the mix ratio is correct from the start. Do not attempt to reuse an old nozzle as the resin inside will have cured.
