Senco 1st fix nails are galvanised gas nails supplied as a complete pack with a gas fuel cell included. Each box contains 2000 nails, giving you everything needed to keep a first fix job moving without hunting for cells separately. These are solid, consistent nails built for timber framing, stud work, and structural first fix applications where you need reliable drive and holding power throughout the day.
The nails are hot-dip galvanised, which gives them decent corrosion resistance for applications where some moisture exposure is likely. That matters on new builds where the frame might sit open to the weather for a few weeks before the envelope is closed. It is also worth noting for timber that may retain some moisture content during construction.
Where Senco 1st Fix Nails Fit Most Builds
The four size options cover the typical range of first fix timber work. The 50mm and 65mm nails suit stud partitions and noggins where you are fixing into standard timber sections. The 75mm and 90mm nails are better for structural framing, sole plates, and situations where you need that extra penetration to meet the load requirements. All sizes come in 2.9mm or 3.1mm diameter depending on the length, which is appropriate for the structural demands of each application.
One of the most useful things about these packs is the compatibility. They are designed to work across most major gas nailer brands, including Paslode, Hitachi, Senco, Makita, DeWalt, Stanley, Rawl, and Dynamik. If you are running a busy site with multiple tools from different manufacturers, you are not carrying three different types of nails. One pack type covers the fleet. The packs come in sturdy packaging with a carry handle, which might seem like a small detail until you are moving between plots.
For anyone who runs Senco 1st fix nails through a busy framing phase, buying by the box at 2000 per pack makes sense from a cost and logistics point of view. Fewer reorders, more time nailing.
Pro Tip: Always check your gas cell is at operating temperature before starting in cold weather, as a cold cell will give inconsistent drive depth and you will end up with nails proud of the surface on structural timbers.
