Viper 16g brad nails are galvanised straight brads designed for second fix carpentry and joinery work. Available in seven lengths from 19mm through to 64mm, these nails cover the full range of typical second fix tasks — from delicate architrave and beading up to heavier skirting and casing. The galvanised coating gives a reasonable level of corrosion resistance, which matters when nailing into MDF or engineered timber products that can react with plain bright steel over time.

Each box contains 2000 nails, which is a practical working quantity for a day’s second fix or a medium-sized fit-out. The nails are collated in strips and sized at 16 gauge, which is the standard diameter for second fix brad nailers across both cordless and pneumatic tools.

Where Viper 16g Brad Nails Get Used

These brads are compatible with cordless nailers from Paslode, Firmahold, and similar 16g second fix tools, as well as pneumatic brad nailers running at standard workshop pressures. The straight collation is what most 16g nailers expect, so there is no fiddling around with different strip types or feed angles.

The 19mm and 25mm lengths suit thin beading, panel pins, and light trim work. The 32mm and 38mm nails are the workhorses for architrave and skirting. At 45mm, 50mm, and 64mm, you have enough length to fix through thicker material or to get a solid bite into structural backing timber behind plasterboard.

Galvanised Finish

Viper 16g brad nails use a galvanised finish rather than plain bright steel. In practice this reduces the risk of rust staining through paint or filler over time, and it means the nails hold better in humid environments such as utility rooms and kitchens. For fully exterior applications, stainless fixings would be the correct choice, but for interior second fix the galvanised finish is the right call.

Priced per box of 2000, Viper brad nails offer a cost-effective way to keep the nailer loaded without ordering in quantities you do not need.

Pro Tip: When choosing nail length for skirting fixed over plasterboard, add the plasterboard thickness to the skirting thickness and pick a nail long enough to get at least 20mm into the timber stud or backing batten behind.
