Waterproof dust sheets come in all shapes and sizes, but most of them were designed with a flat floor in mind. Stairs are a different problem altogether. You need length, you need something that stays put, and you need it to actually stop liquid rather than just slow it down. This barrier sheet is purpose-built for exactly that job, running 7.3 metres long and just 1 metre wide so it covers a full staircase and the hallway connecting to it without bunching up or leaving gaps at the edges.
The fabric is lightweight but genuinely waterproof. Paint, solvents, silicone and dirty water from muddy work boots all sit on the surface rather than soaking through to the carpet or flooring underneath. That matters on site, because a standard cotton dust sheet will let a splashed tin of emulsion bleed straight through in minutes. This one won’t. The material also drapes well, which means it follows the step profile properly and lies flush against skirting boards and walls rather than bridging awkwardly across corners.
