Champion Galv+ collated framing nails are designed for use with Champion first fix nailers and cover the full range of structural timber applications — stud work, sole plates, rafters, joists, decking, and general framing. Whether you are working through a new build or a heavy refurb, having the right nail diameter and length for the job saves time and avoids split timber. These are sold as nails only, without gas, which is useful when you still have gas canisters to burn through and just need to restock on nails.
The Galv+ coating gives these nails a solid level of corrosion resistance, making them a reasonable choice for exposed or semi-exposed applications where standard bright nails would not hold up over time. The 90mm x 3.1mm ring shank option offers additional holding power in applications where nail pull-through is a concern, such as decking boards or timber to concrete situations with a base plate.
Champion Framing Nails: Size Guide
The range covers six size variants. The 51mm x 2.8mm nails are well suited to lighter framing tasks and stud work in thinner timber. The 63mm options in both 2.8mm and 3.1mm shank diameter step up for standard stud-to-plate fixing. The 75mm x 3.1mm nails are the go-to for most structural framing joints. The 90mm x 3.1mm smooth and ring shank variants handle heavier structural work and decking where depth and grip are both important.
Smooth vs Ring Shank at 90mm
The smooth shank drives cleanly and is the right call where occasional disassembly might be needed. The ring shank bites into timber fibres on the way in and is extremely difficult to withdraw, making it the better choice where permanence and pull-out resistance matter more than anything else.
Quantities per box are 3,300 for the 51mm and 63mm nails, and 2,200 for the 75mm and 90mm sizes. These are genuine trade quantities that will keep a nailer fed on a busy site without constant re-ordering.
Pro Tip: If you are using the 90mm ring shank nails near the end of a joist or rafter, keep at least 40mm from the timber edge to avoid splitting the grain under the barbs.
