These hex head coach screws are built for jobs where standard coach screws slow you down. The Advanced Solo Single Slash coach screw drives three times faster than a traditional DIN 571 coach screw, with an aggressive slash point tip that bites quickly into the material and reduces the risk of splitting as it goes. Whether you are fixing into softwood, hardwood, man-made board, or masonry using a nylon plug, this is a screw that gets on with the job without fuss.

The hex flange head sits flush against the surface once driven and distributes load across a wider bearing area than a standard hex head alone. That matters on structural and heavy-duty fixings where pull-through resistance counts. The head is designed for use with a standard socket driver, and to save you rooting through the toolbox, every box comes with a free socket driver included. Straightforward.

Where These Hex Head Coach Screws Get Used

On site, these screws are a direct replacement for the old-style DIN 571 coach screw that needed a pre-drilled pilot hole and a lot more torque to drive home. The slash point on these cuts its own lead, reducing the number of prep steps before fixing. That adds up across a day’s work, especially when you are running multiple fixings through timber frames, decking joists, fencing posts, or structural connections.

The zinc plating and yellow passivation give a reasonable level of corrosion resistance for general external and internal use. These are not a stainless steel screw, so for permanently wet or coastal environments you would want to consider a more corrosion-resistant option. For the vast majority of timber frame, landscaping, decking, and structural joinery applications, the finish is more than adequate.

Free Socket Driver in Every Box

It is a small thing, but anyone who has arrived on site missing the right bit will appreciate it. The included socket driver means you can go straight from opening the box to driving the first screw. No hunting around for the correct socket size, no delays. The screws are power tool compatible, so a cordless impact driver or drill driver will make short work of even the longer lengths.

Available in a wide range of sizes from 6 x 25mm up to 12 x 160mm, covering everything from lighter timber connections through to heavy structural fixings. Box quantities of 25, 50, and 100 mean you can buy to match the job rather than ending up with a box of leftovers gathering dust. The 10mm and 12mm diameter options in the longer lengths are well suited to post and beam work where you need real holding strength across the fixing.

If you are replacing traditional lag bolts or DIN 571 screws on a regular basis, these advanced coach screws are worth switching to. The speed advantage is genuine, the finish is practical, and the free driver is a nice touch that shows someone has thought about how these are actually used.

Pro Tip: When driving the longer lengths into hardwood, apply a small amount of wax or soap to the thread before fixing to reduce driving torque and prevent the screw from stalling partway in.
