These 115mm sanding abrasive rolls give you a full 50 metres of aluminium oxide abrasive on a paper backing, ready to cut to whatever length the job needs. Whether you’re flattening a door, rubbing down filler, knocking back paint between coats, or preparing metalwork, one roll covers a serious amount of ground. The aluminium oxide grain is tough, sharp and bonded to an open structure paper backing that helps prevent clogging, which is the main reason cheap abrasives frustrate people halfway through a job.

The 115mm width is the standard for most hand-held sanding blocks and orbital sheet sanders, so this rolls straight into your workflow without any trimming across the width. Just tear or cut the length you need. That’s genuinely it. No faff with pre-cut sheets that are either too big or too small for what you’re working on.

Where These 115mm Sanding Abrasive Rolls Get Used

The grit range covers everything from heavy stock removal right through to fine finishing. At the lower end, 40g and 60g are for taking material off quickly: stripped floors, rough timber, heavy rust, or old coatings that need shifting. Mid-range grits like 80g and 100g are the workhorses for most prep work. Once you’re into the 120g to 180g territory, you’re refining surfaces, smoothing raised grain, and getting things ready for paint or varnish. The 240g is your finishing pass before a final coat, where surface quality actually matters.

Hand Sanding and Powered Use

One of the more useful things about this format is that it works equally well by hand or in a powered sheet sander. Wrap a section around a sanding block for controlled hand work on edges, mouldings, or awkward shapes. Load a cut length into a 1/4 sheet or 1/3 sheet orbital sander for larger flat areas. The paper backing has enough flexibility for both without tearing under normal use. On a busy site or in a workshop, a 50m roll means you’re not constantly reordering consumables. Cut what you need, keep the rest on the roll, job done.

Pro Tip: When loading a cut section into a sheet sander, tear slightly longer than you think you need and fold the excess under the clamp plate for a firmer grip, it stops the sheet slipping mid-pass on finer grits.
