Blue polypropylene rope is one of those things you find on pretty much every site, yard and farm in the country, and for good reason. It does what it says, it handles abuse well, and it costs very little. Available in a range of diameters from 3mm through to 12mm, and in lengths from 10m right up to 220m coils, there is a size to suit whatever job you have in front of you.

Polypropylene as a material is genuinely well-suited to outdoor and working environments. It floats on water, which is useful for mooring and waterside applications, and it will not absorb moisture, so there is no shrinking, swelling or the kind of rot you get with natural fibre rope left outside over winter. You can store it wet without it degrading, and it holds up well against mildew and most common chemicals encountered on site or in agricultural settings.

It ties and knots reliably, which matters more than people give it credit for. A rope that slips under load or that you cannot untie after it has been cinched tight is a genuine problem on a job. This one holds knots well and stays manageable even after a season of outdoor use.

Where Blue Polypropylene Rope Gets Used

Beyond the obvious securing and towing applications, it is widely used as a cable draw cord when running cables through conduit or ducting. The lighter 3mm and 6mm sizes are particularly useful for that. Thicker sizes, the 10mm and 12mm options, are more at home as barrier rope, lorry tie, or general load securing. Agricultural users will find it useful for dozens of tasks around a farm or smallholding.

Whether you need a short handy winder for the van or a full 220m coil for a larger job, the polypropylene rope range covers it without fuss.

Pro Tip: When using polypropylene rope as a cable draw cord, tape the cable end to the rope cleanly rather than tying a bulky knot, as it will pull through conduit bends far more smoothly.
