Soudabond Easy construction adhesive foam is a gun-grade polyurethane adhesive that replaces traditional powder-based bonding methods for dry lining, insulation fitting and lightweight block construction. No mixing, no buckets, no waiting around for the right consistency. You crack on straight from the can.
The single-component formula bonds plasterboard to masonry, fixes insulation panels to walls and ceilings, and builds non-load bearing interior walls using aerated blocks. It works on both porous and non-porous materials, so whether you’re sticking boards to brick, concrete, stone or steel framing, the same can does the job. The gap-filling properties mean uneven substrates aren’t a problem the foam expands to fill voids while maintaining a strong bond.
Why tradespeople choose Soudabond Easy
Speed matters on site. Mixing powder adhesive takes time you could spend actually fitting boards. Soudabond Easy cuts that step entirely. Load your foam gun, apply in beads or dabs, press the board home and move on. Soudal reckon it’s up to 30% quicker than traditional methods, and that sounds about right once you factor in the faff of mixing and cleaning up afterwards.
The foam cures by reacting with moisture in the air and the substrate surface. Initial grab is quick enough to hold boards in place while you move to the next one, though you’ll want to brace or prop heavier materials until the bond develops fully. Once cured, you get a rigid connection that won’t shrink or crack like some cement-based adhesives can over time.
Cleaner work, less waste
There’s something satisfying about not having half a bucket of dried-out adhesive to scrape out at the end of the day. Each 750ml can delivers a predictable yield, and because you’re applying exactly what you need with a foam gun, there’s far less waste than slopping wet adhesive onto a wall with a trowel. The cans store well too just clear the nozzle and you’re ready for the next job.
Soudabond Easy handles the full range of common dry lining and insulation substrates: polyurethane panels, phenolic foam, resin foam boards, polystyrene, gypsum plasterboard, brick, stone, aluminium, ceramics, MDF, wood, chipboard, cork and steel. If you’re working through a refurb with mixed wall types, one product covers most of what you’ll encounter.
Pro Tip: Apply in vertical beads rather than dabs when bonding full-height plasterboard gives better coverage and makes it easier to slide the board into final position before the foam grabs.
Soudabond Easy suits dry lining work where plasterboard is bonded directly to masonry walls, replacing traditional drywall adhesive. It's equally useful for fixing rigid insulation panels polyurethane, phenolic, polystyrene and resin foam boards to walls, ceilings and floors. Interior partition walls built from lightweight aerated blocks bond cleanly with this foam. The formula also works for general construction bonding where you need a strong, gap-filling adhesive between materials like brick, stone, concrete, steel, aluminium, timber, MDF, chipboard, cork and ceramics.
Best For
- Dry lining plasterboard to masonry
- Bonding rigid insulation panels
- Building non-load bearing partition walls
- Fixing boards to uneven substrates
- Mixed-material construction bonding
Compatible Materials
- Plasterboard and gypsum board
- Polyurethane and phenolic insulation
- Polystyrene and resin foam boards
- Brick, stone, concrete and block
- Timber, MDF, chipboard, steel and aluminium
Key Features
- Single-component formula no mixing required
- Gap-filling expansion for uneven surfaces
- Works on porous and non-porous materials
- Up to 30% faster than powder adhesives
- Gun-grade application for precise control
Not suitable for: Not suitable for structural load-bearing applications or bonds that will be permanently submerged in water. Avoid use on PE, PP and PTFE plastics, bituminous surfaces and silicone-treated materials.
Apply with a standard foam gun for controlled bead placement. Surfaces should be clean, dust-free and slightly damp for best adhesion the foam cures by reacting with moisture. Apply in beads or dabs depending on the substrate and material being bonded, then press firmly into place. Allow time for the foam to expand and cure before applying load or finishing.
- Ensure surfaces are clean, dry and free from dust, oil and loose material
- Dampen porous substrates lightly with water to improve cure speed
- Shake the can thoroughly and attach to a foam gun
- Apply adhesive in beads or dabs depending on board size and substrate condition
- Press the material firmly into position within a few minutes of application
- Brace or support heavy boards until initial cure develops
- Trim any excess cured foam with a knife before finishing
Can Soudabond Easy replace standard drywall adhesive for dot and dab?
Yes, it works as a direct replacement for powder-based drywall adhesive. Apply in dabs or beads depending on your preference and the wall condition. Many find it quicker and cleaner than mixing wet adhesive.
How many square metres will a 750ml can cover?
Coverage depends on bead size and spacing, but expect roughly 10 to 12 square metres per can when applying in standard dab patterns for plasterboard. Continuous bead application uses more product.
Does the foam work on polystyrene insulation without dissolving it?
Yes, Soudabond Easy is formulated to bond polystyrene safely without attacking or melting the material. It's suitable for EPS and XPS insulation boards.
Soudabond Easy is a moisture-curing polyurethane adhesive foam supplied in a 750ml aerosol can for gun application. The single-component formula expands on application to fill gaps and voids while developing a rigid, permanent bond. It adheres to both porous substrates like brick and plasterboard and non-porous materials including steel and aluminium. Fully cured foam is closed-cell and resistant to ageing.
