A resin chemical anchor capsule is about as close to foolproof chemical anchoring as you are going to get on site. Each capsule contains a pre-measured blend of resin and hardener sealed inside a glass vial. Drill your hole, drop the capsule in, drive the stud or rebar through it with a rotary hammer, and the spinning action breaks the glass and mixes the chemistry. Job done. No cartridge guns, no nozzles to block, no two-part mixing ratios to get wrong at seven in the morning.

These capsules are used wherever you need a high-strength, load-bearing fixing into concrete, brick, stone, or blockwork. The self-contained nature of the system makes them particularly useful when you are working in confined spaces or awkward positions where handling a separate injection gun is impractical. They are also a sensible choice when you only need a handful of fixings and do not want to open a full cartridge.

Where Resin Chemical Anchor Capsules Perform Best

The sweet spot for this type of fixing is structural applications: setting holding-down bolts, anchoring steel framework, fixing rebar into existing concrete for extensions or reinforced pours, and installing threaded rod for mechanical plant supports. The resin fills the annular gap between the hole wall and the stud, creating a bond that distributes load across the full embedment depth rather than relying on mechanical expansion alone. That is why they are preferred in cracked concrete zones and close to edges where expansion anchors would not be appropriate.

Size Range and Selection

These capsules are available from M8 right through to M24, which covers the vast majority of structural fixing requirements. Match the capsule size to the stud diameter and follow the recommended hole size and embedment depth for each diameter. Getting the hole size right is critical — too loose and the capsule does not mix properly, too tight and you will not get it in at all. The hole depth should be at least as deep as the capsule length plus a small tolerance for glass fragments and debris.

Sold in boxes of 6 or 10 depending on size, these are a practical stock item for structural fixers, groundworkers, and steelwork contractors who want a reliable, repeatable chemical anchoring solution without the fuss of a full injection system.

Pro Tip: Always use a rotary hammer in rotary-only mode to drive the stud through the capsule — switching to hammer-only or SDS hammer action will shatter the glass without mixing the resin properly and you will end up with a weak, inconsistent bond.
