A non-chlorinated, multi-surface contact adhesive spray in a 500ml aerosol. DCM free, CFC free, with a variable discharge nozzle, strong initial grab, and an open time of 3 to 15 minutes. Covers approximately 4m² per can.
This contact adhesive spray is a 500ml aerosol that earns its place on a wide range of jobs carpet fitting, upholstery, foam bonding, trim installation, and more. The formula is non-chlorinated, DCM free, and contains no CFCs or methylene chloride, so you’re working with a cleaner product without giving up bond strength. It performs across a genuinely broad range of substrates and sets up quickly once the adhesive has tacked off on both surfaces.
The can is fitted with a variable discharge nozzle, which lets you adjust the fan width to suit the job. Tighten it down for edges and perimeters where overspray would cause problems. Open it up for larger areas where you need coverage fast. It’s a small but useful feature anyone who has tried to bond carpet tile perimeters with a fixed-nozzle can will understand why it matters.
Where Contact Adhesive Spray Gets Used
Carpet tile installation is one of the most common applications, particularly for perimeter bonding where you need a reliable hold without committing to a full-spread adhesive across the entire floor. The open time of 3 to 15 minutes gives you enough of a working window to position tiles accurately before the bond locks.
Furniture production and upholstery are another natural fit. Bonding foam to timber, board, or fabric is a routine job in these trades, and a spray adhesive is significantly faster and cleaner than brush-applied alternatives. The bond is resistant to heat above 60°C, which also makes this spray suitable for automotive trim work headlining foam, door card inserts, and boot linings all need an adhesive that can cope with warm interiors in summer.
The substrate list is long: wood, concrete, stone, tiles, rubber, foam, metals, rigid plastics, polyethylene, canvas, cardboard, paper, and cork. That kind of coverage is why this contact adhesive spray tends to live in the van rather than waiting on the shelf for one specific task.
Application Temperature and Coverage
For best results, apply at temperatures between 15°C and 25°C. Cold conditions slow tack development and reduce bond strength if you’re working in an unheated space in winter, warm the can and the surfaces before you start. Coverage runs to approximately 4m² per 500ml can, though porous substrates like cardboard and cork will absorb more adhesive and reduce that figure. Smooth, non-porous surfaces such as metals and rigid plastics will go further.
Apply the contact adhesive spray to both surfaces, allow to tack off within the open time window, then bring the surfaces together carefully. Once two coated surfaces meet, they grip fast positioning needs to be right before contact. This is not a product that forgives much repositioning once bonded.
Pro Tip: Apply to both surfaces and let the adhesive tack off fully before joining them. Rushing this step is the most common reason for a weak bond with any contact adhesive.
