Pro Tip: Always wire brush the outside of the copper pipe end and the inside of the fitting socket before fluxing — end feed joints fail far more often from poor prep than poor technique, and a dull pipe surface will cause solder to bead rather than flow cleanly into the joint.

Clean the outside of the copper pipe end with wire wool or a pipe cleaning brush until the surface is bright. Clean the inside of the fitting socket the same way. Apply flux to both surfaces before assembling the joint.
Heat the fitting evenly with a blowtorch, moving the flame around the body rather than holding it in one spot. When the flux begins to sizzle and the fitting is up to temperature, touch solder to the mouth of the socket and allow capillary action to draw it in. A full ring of solder showing at the joint face indicates a sound connection. Allow to cool before disturbing and wipe away excess flux once cool.
Cut copper pipe square and deburr the end inside and out
Wire brush the pipe end and fitting socket until both surfaces are clean and bright
Apply flux paste to the pipe end and the inside of the fitting socket
Push the fitting firmly onto the pipe to the full depth of the socket
If threading onto a BSP connection, apply PTFE tape to male threads before assembly
Heat the fitting body evenly with a blowtorch until flux activates
Feed solder into the mouth of the socket and allow it to draw in by capillary action
Check for a complete solder ring visible around the joint face
Allow the joint to cool naturally before pressure testing
Wipe away any residual flux with a damp cloth once cool

What is the difference between a male and female end feed adaptor?
