The end feed elbow is one of those fittings you burn through on any plumbing job involving copper pipe. Whether you’re running a hot and cold first fix, adding a branch off an existing circuit, or making a tight directional change in a confined space, this is the fitting you reach for. Available in sizes from 8mm through to 42mm, these WRAS approved elbows cover the full range of domestic and light commercial copper pipework.

WRAS approval means the fittings meet the Water Regulations Advisory Scheme requirements for use in contact with drinking water. That’s not a marketing badge — it’s a requirement for any installation connected to the public water supply in the UK. If you’re working on a property and your fittings aren’t WRAS approved, you may find yourself having a very awkward conversation with building control. These are, so you won’t.

End Feed Elbow Sizes and Trade Buying

These elbows are available in 8mm, 10mm, 15mm, 22mm, 28mm, 35mm and 42mm. The 15mm and 22mm sizes will account for the vast majority of jobs, but having the full range available at trade prices makes stocking up straightforward. They’re sold individually or in box quantities, so you can grab a handful for a small job or order in bulk if you’ve got a big first fix coming up. The price per unit drops considerably when you buy in quantity, which is worth bearing in mind if you’re regularly speccing copper.

End feed fittings require soldering, which means a bit more skill than compression, but the result is a cleaner, lower-profile joint that sits flush against the wall and doesn’t add unnecessary bulk. For exposed pipework or tight runs, end feed is often the better choice. These elbows are manufactured to consistent tolerances, which matters when you’re sweating twenty joints in a row and you need each one to pull up the same way.

Pro Tip: When soldering an end feed elbow in a confined space, pre-tin the inside of the fitting before assembly so you need less heat on the final joint and reduce the risk of scorching nearby surfaces.
