Where Florprotec Tuff Board Heavy Duty Floor Protection Gets Used

Tuff Board is a practical solution for any project where hard floors need protecting but a permanent fix is not required. It is widely used during new builds, commercial fit-outs, residential refurbishments, and on sites where floor finishes are being installed ahead of remaining trades working through the area.

The 1m width makes it easy to lay in strips with overlapping joints, covering corridors, hallways, open-plan spaces, and staircase landings without awkward cutting. Sites where polished concrete, stone, ceramic tile, or timber flooring has been installed early in the programme will benefit from a roll of Tuff Board left on site as a standard protection measure.

Vapour Control Properties

Florprotec Tuff Board includes vapour control as part of its specification. This is a useful feature on sites where newly laid screeds or concrete floors are still curing beneath the protection. Some moisture vapour transmission is managed by the board, which reduces the risk of trapped moisture causing problems to the floor finish below.

It is worth noting that Tuff Board is not rated as a flame retardant product. For sites where fire safety specifications require flame retardant temporary floor protection, a different product from the Florprotec range should be selected. On the majority of standard commercial and residential sites, however, this is not a barrier to use.
