Hi-load soft block anchors are designed specifically for fixing into aircrete and lightweight block materials where a standard wall plug simply will not hold. Celcon, Thermolite and similar autoclaved aerated concrete blocks are everywhere on modern builds. They are light, easy to handle, and go up quickly. The problem is that the moment you try to put a conventional expansion plug into one, the material crumbles around it and you end up with a fixing that wobbles on the wall like a loose tooth. These LB anchors solve that problem directly.

Modern aircrete blocks are marketed under dozens of brand names, but they all share the same challenge: the material is light and porous, which makes life easier for the bricklayers and a headache for anyone fixing into it afterwards. A normal plug expands outward and splits the face of the block. A metal expansion anchor can do the same, or worse. The hi-load soft block anchor works differently. Its design spreads the load rather than concentrating stress at one point, which is exactly what soft or brittle substrates need.

Where Hi-Load Soft Block Anchors Work

These anchors are just as useful in old brickwork and brittle concrete as they are in aircrete. Anywhere the substrate is soft, aged, or unpredictable, a standard fixing risks pulling through or blowing out the face. The LB anchor gives you a reliable bite without damaging the surrounding material. No specialist tools are needed either, just a drill and a screw of the appropriate size.

UK-Made, Temperature Stable

The anchors are manufactured in the UK from high density, heat stabilised polypropylene. That means they stay stable between -5 degrees Celsius and 110 degrees Celsius, which covers pretty much anything you are likely to encounter on a domestic or commercial site. The material does not become brittle in cold conditions or degrade under the kind of heat a south-facing external wall sees in summer.

Available in 10 x 55mm and 10 x 70mm, with box quantities of 100 or 1000 for when you have got a full block of fixing to get through.

Pro Tip: When drilling into aircrete for these anchors, use a standard masonry bit at a slow speed and let the drill do the work without forcing it, as pressing too hard causes the block face to crumble before you have even started.
