IKO Hyload Insulated DPC

The IKO Hyload Insulated DPC is a two-in-one product that handles damp exclusion and thermal bridging in one strip. It combines a flexible polymeric DPC with a bonded insulation layer, designed specifically for use at wall junctions, cavity closers, and below-threshold details where a standard polythene DPC would leave a thermal weak point. If you have ever had an energy assessor flag cold bridging at lintel or sill level, this is the product that addresses it properly.

Standard polythene DPC does the waterproofing job well enough, but it offers nothing in terms of thermal resistance. Where a cavity wall closes around an opening or at a floor-to-wall junction, that gap in the insulation line becomes a path for heat loss and, in some climates, condensation. The IKO Hyload Insulated DPC closes both issues in one installation step.

Where IKO Hyload Insulated DPC Meets Building Regulations

This product conforms to Approved Document L, and is also aligned with NHBC and BRE guidelines on thermal insulation and avoiding risks. The BBA Certificate No. 97/3310 is worth noting if you are working on a warranty-backed new build or a project where sign-off paperwork matters. It is the kind of certification that saves time on site when the inspector turns up with questions.

The insulation material itself will not crack when bent around corners or profiles, which matters on site where DPC rarely gets installed under ideal conditions. The standard sizes cover both 100mm and 140mm blockwork without needing to order bespoke. For non-standard details or unusual cavity widths, bespoke sizing is available — worth a call if you are specifying rather than reacting.

Three standard widths are available: 165mm, 180mm, and 225mm, each supplied in 8m rolls. The product is CFC and HCFC free, which ticks the box for environmentally sensitive specifications.
