The T318B HSS metal jigsaw blades are made from High Speed Steel, which means they hold their edge at temperatures that would have a standard blade going soft and wandering off line. If you’re cutting mild steel, thin sheet metal, aluminium or non-ferrous profiles, this is the blade you reach for. The milled and wavy set teeth produce a clean, straight cut rather than the ragged edge you get from a blade that’s fighting the material.

HSS as a material has been used in metalworking tooling for a long time, and for good reason. It maintains its hardness at elevated temperatures, which matters when you’re cutting ferrous metals with a jigsaw — friction builds up fast, and a blade that can’t handle the heat becomes a liability pretty quickly. The T318B is designed with that in mind.

Where T318B HSS Jigsaw Blades Earn Their Keep

These blades are regularly used by fabricators, maintenance engineers, site workers and anyone who needs to cut metal without a grinder or angle grinder being the right tool for the job. They’re particularly useful when you need to cut in a confined space, follow a curve, or make an internal cut where a grinder simply isn’t an option.

Sandwich materials and profile sections are also well within range. If you’ve ever tried to cut a composite panel or a section of box profile with the wrong blade, you’ll know it ends badly. The wavy set on these teeth handles varying thicknesses and layered materials more cleanly than a straight-set blade.

Fit and Compatibility

The T-shank fitting is the current standard across virtually all modern jigsaw brands, so these will drop straight into most machines without any fuss. At 132mm in length, they offer enough depth for most sheet and profile work without the flex you can get from longer blades in thinner gauges.

Supplied in a pack of five, they’re priced sensibly enough that you’re not rationing blades on a job.

Pro Tip: When cutting mild steel, let the blade do the work at a steady speed rather than forcing the pace. Pushing too hard generates excess heat even for an HSS blade, shortens blade life noticeably, and tends to produce a rougher edge.
