PHILLIPS – Impact Driver Bits – PH2 – No.2 x 150 (1 pcs)
£2.45£2.94 EX VATINC VAT
A 150mm PH2 impact driver bit built to handle the punishment of high-torque cordless drivers. Designed with a torsion zone to absorb peak loads, a heat-treated body for lasting performance, and black phosphate finish for corrosion resistance.
If you’re running a high-powered impact driver and chewing through bits like they’re made of chalk, this 150mm PH2 impact driver bit is worth a look. Built specifically for impact use, it’s not just a standard screwdriver bit with a longer shank — the metallurgy is genuinely different. The body is engineered to flex slightly under load rather than snap, which is exactly what you want when an impact driver is hammering out torque peaks several times a second.
Standard chrome vanadium bits can handle a cordless drill. Put them in a proper impact driver and they fail fast — they’re too rigid. This bit uses a controlled hardness profile: harder at the tip where you need accuracy and grip, softer through the mid-section to absorb shock. That balance is what stops them cracking at the neck, which is where most bits give up.
Where the 150mm PH2 Impact Driver Bit Earns Its Keep
The extra length is the point. A 25mm bit works fine when you’ve got clear access, but a 150mm bit gets you into cavity frames, service voids, back boxes, and anywhere a short bit physically won’t reach. Chipboard flooring, decking, timber frame construction — any job where you’re driving a lot of PH2 screws in awkward positions. The length also means less wrist at odd angles, which adds up over a full day on site.
The heat treatment process applied during manufacture improves grain structure in the steel, which translates directly to longer life between replacements. The black phosphate coating adds a layer of protection against rust — useful when bits end up in a damp tool belt or left overnight on a damp site. It also reduces glare, which is a minor but occasionally appreciated detail when you’re working in bright conditions.
One Bit or a Box
Available individually or in packs, depending on how many you’re likely to get through. A single bit is fine if you need to replace one. If PH2 driving is a regular part of your work, buying in a pack is the obvious call. At this price point, having spares in the van costs very little and saves the frustration of stopping mid-job to hunt for a bit.
Fits all standard impact drivers with a 1/4 inch hex chuck — which is every impact driver made in the last twenty years, more or less.
Pro Tip: When using a long bit like this in a compact impact driver, let the tool do the driving rather than leaning hard into it — excessive side pressure on a 150mm bit accelerates wear at the tip and can cause the bit to wander on the screw head.
