Viper framing nails are a dependable choice for first fix carpentry and structural timber work. These hot dipped galvanised collated nails come bundled with the gas canisters you need, so there’s no separate order to place and no arriving on site short of fuel. The D-clipped head design fits more nails per strip than a full round head equivalent, which means fewer reloads and more time driving fixings. Each nail has a diamond point for clean penetration through timber, and an annular ring shank that locks into the material and resists pull-out.
The hot dipped galvanising gives a thicker, more durable zinc coating than standard electro-galvanised nails. This matters in environments where moisture is a factor, such as roof structures, floor cassettes, stud walling in exposed conditions, and treated timber. Viper framing nails comply with Eurocode 5 and meet the Service Class 2 standard for external use where the application is not directly exposed to moisture or where timber moisture content does not exceed 20 percent. Fasteners carry a minimum of 12 microns of zinc galvanising.
Viper Framing Nails Across First Fix Applications
These nails are sold in practical quantities with gas included. The 51mm and 63mm packs contain 3,300 nails and 3 gas canisters. The 75mm and 90mm packs contain 2,200 nails and 2 gas canisters. The 90mm smooth shank option is worth noting for applications where withdrawal is occasionally required or where the timber species makes ring shank drive harder going.
Collated nails at this price point with gas included represent a straightforward buy for site work. Whether you’re building stud walls, fixing joists, installing roof timbers or assembling timber frames, Viper framing nails hold up in use and won’t cause jams if stored and loaded correctly.
Pro Tip: Store collated nail strips flat and keep them dry before use — moisture between the strips causes individual nails to separate from the collation, which leads to misfeeds and double-fires in the gun.
