A complete diamond core drill bit set for plumbers, electricians and builders. Includes four core sizes, a free 115mm diamond blade, SDS plus and hex adaptors, pilot drill, guide rod, drift key and extension bar.
This Abracs Pro diamond core drill bit set gives you the key sizes and accessories needed to get coring work done without hunting around for individual bits. Whether you’re drilling through masonry for pipe runs, cable routes or service penetrations, having the right diamond core bits to hand makes a real difference on site. The set covers four core diameters alongside everything else you need to get started straight away.
Abracs manufacture these cores using tool grade steel with premium quality diamond grain. The 10mm diamond segment is set into the metal core, giving good depth and consistent cutting performance across brick, block, concrete and similar masonry. The steel construction holds up well under repeated use, which matters when you’re on a job with multiple penetrations to drill.
What’s Included in the Abracs Diamond Core Set
The set contains one each of the most commonly requested sizes: 38mm, 52mm, 65mm and 117mm core drills. The 38mm suits conduit and small pipe entries, 52mm covers a standard 40mm waste pipe with clearance, 65mm handles larger service entries, and the 117mm is useful for soil pipe runs or larger ducting penetrations. Alongside the cores you get an SDS plus adaptor, a hexagon shank adaptor, pilot drill, guide rod, drift key and extension bar. The free 115mm diamond blade is a decent bonus for cutting work on the same job.
Who Uses This Set
It’s aimed at plumbers, electricians and general building contractors who need a reliable kit without buying cores individually. It’s also a reasonable option for builders’ merchants or contractors kitting out a new van. The adaptors give compatibility with most standard SDS plus and hex drive machines, so there’s a good chance it works with what you already own.
At this price point, it represents solid value for a kit that covers the majority of common coring situations on a typical domestic or light commercial job.
Pro Tip: Always use water when coring through concrete or engineering brick — it keeps the diamond segment cool, extends the life of the core drill considerably, and stops the segment glazing over.
Diamond core drill bits are used wherever a clean, accurately sized circular hole is needed through masonry, concrete, block or brick. Common applications include drilling for soil pipe entries, waste pipe runs, electrical conduit, gas service entries, boiler flue penetrations and through-wall cable routes. Plumbers reach for cores regularly on domestic and light commercial installs, and electricians use them wherever conduit needs a clean entry point through structural material. Builders use them for ventilation, ducting and general service penetrations throughout a project.

Not suitable for: Not suitable for drilling glass, ceramic tiles or reinforced concrete with heavy rebar. These cores are designed for standard masonry, brick and block — not hard engineering stone or heavily reinforced structural concrete.
Fit the appropriate adaptor for your drill, then attach the pilot drill and guide rod to keep the core on line when starting the hole. Apply steady, consistent pressure and use water to cool the segment throughout the cut. Let the core do the work rather than forcing it.
For deeper penetrations, use the extension bar to maintain reach without losing drive. Once the core breaks through, use the drift key to remove the slug cleanly from inside the barrel. Check the segment condition periodically — a glazed segment will stop cutting efficiently and needs dressing on an abrasive block before continuing.
Select the correct core size for your pipe or cable diameter, allowing adequate clearance
Attach the appropriate adaptor (SDS plus or hexagon shank) to match your drill
Fit the pilot drill and guide rod to the core to prevent walking at the start of the hole
Mark the centre point of the hole and position the pilot drill on the mark
Set your drill to rotary hammer mode and begin at low speed to establish the entry
Apply water continuously to the core during drilling to keep the segment cool
Use steady, consistent pressure and allow the diamond segment to cut at its own pace
Attach the extension bar if the core depth requires additional reach
Once through, use the drift key to knock the masonry slug free from inside the barrel
Inspect the diamond segment after use and dress on an abrasive block if glazing is present
Will these diamond core bits work with my SDS plus drill?
Yes. The set includes an SDS plus adaptor specifically for this purpose. Most standard SDS plus rotary hammer drills from any major brand will accept it. A hexagon shank adaptor is also included if you need to use a standard drill driver or hex-drive machine instead.
Do I need to use water with these cores?
For concrete and hard masonry, yes. Water cools the diamond segment and prevents glazing, which significantly extends the working life of the core. For softer brick or lightweight block you may get away without it on shorter runs, but using water is always the better habit and you'll notice the difference in how long the cores last.
Abracs manufacture these diamond core drill bits using tool grade steel bodies with a 10mm diamond segment bonded into the cutting edge. The diamond grain used is premium quality, selected to maintain a consistent cutting rate through masonry and concrete. The segment depth provides sufficient cutting life for repeated use across standard building materials without rapid wear.
