If you get through expanding foam at any serious rate, buying it one can at a time from a builders merchant makes no sense whatsoever. This expanding foam deal bundles 24 x 750ml gun grade cans with pro applicator guns and foam cleaner, giving you everything you need to crack on without running short halfway through a job. Gun grade foam is the right choice for regular site use — it applies more precisely than straw foam, wastes less product, and works properly in cold conditions where cheaper options tend to sulk.
The foam itself is a single-component PU (polyurethane) formula that reacts with atmospheric moisture as it cures. It expands significantly on application, filling irregular gaps and voids in a way that pre-cut insulation simply cannot match. The yield is considerable — up to 50 times the original can volume — so a single 750ml can covers a lot of ground when used correctly. It sets quickly enough that you can cut, saw, plaster over or seal it after around an hour, which keeps the job moving without long waits between stages.
What This Expanding Foam Deal Covers
Alongside the cans, the bundle includes foam applicator guns and foam cleaner. The guns matter more than people give them credit for — a decent gun gives you flow control and lets you clear the nozzle between uses, extending the usable life of each can considerably. The cleaner handles fresh uncured foam on tools, hands and frames before it goes off. Once cured, expanding foam is a different story (ask anyone who’s left it on their jacket), so getting the cleaner in the same order just makes sense.
Cut, Plaster and Paint Once Set
After it cures, this foam accepts most finishing work directly. It can be cut or sawn to shape, plastered over, and painted, which means it fits into standard construction workflows without requiring a specialist finish product on top. The foam also provides meaningful thermal and acoustic performance in the gaps it fills, which is a useful side benefit when you’re sealing around frames and service penetrations.
For trades that use expanding foam regularly — window and door installers, general builders, plumbers sealing pipe penetrations, roofers working around fixings — buying in a bulk deal like this is just the practical way to stock up.
Pro Tip: Dampen the substrate lightly with water before applying gun grade foam in dry or cold conditions, the moisture kick-starts the curing reaction and gives you a more consistent expansion and set.
Expanding foam sees regular use across construction, renovation and fit-out work. Window and door installers use it to fill the perimeter gap between frame and masonry, providing both a seal and a degree of structural support while also cutting down on draughts. Plumbers and heating engineers use it around pipe penetrations through walls and floors to close off the void and reduce heat loss. General builders reach for it when fixing internal timber frames, sealing around loft hatches, and insulating around service entries.
It also gets used in roofing applications around penetrations and in cavity work where conventional insulation cannot be fitted easily. Anywhere you have an irregular gap that needs filling, sealing or insulating in one step, gun grade expanding foam is a practical solution.

Thermal and acoustic performance
Quick setting in normal site conditions
Not suitable for: Not suitable for use as a structural adhesive or primary load-bearing application. This foam is not appropriate for filling large open voids in a single pass as over-application causes excessive expansion and can bow frames.
Fit the can to the applicator gun and shake well before use. Adjust the gun valve before you start so you can control the flow rate — this avoids over-filling gaps, which is the most common mistake with expanding foam. Apply in a single pass into the gap, filling it roughly half to two-thirds full, as the foam continues to expand after application.
In cold or dry conditions, a light mist of water on the substrate before foaming helps the cure along. Once set, which takes around an hour under normal conditions, the foam can be trimmed flush with a sharp knife or handsaw. Clear the gun with foam cleaner immediately after use while the product is still uncured, or the nozzle will block solid and the gun will be next to useless for the next job.
Shake the 750ml can vigorously for at least 30 seconds before attaching to the gun
Screw the can onto the applicator gun and set the flow valve to a low starting position
Lightly mist the gap or substrate with water if conditions are cold or dry
Insert the gun nozzle into the gap and apply foam, filling to roughly half to two-thirds of the void depth
Work from the back of the gap towards the front to avoid air pockets
Allow approximately one hour for the foam to set before trimming or working over
Trim cured foam flush with a sharp knife or handsaw as required
Flush the gun immediately after use with foam cleaner before the product cures in the nozzle
Does this deal include the applicator guns and cleaner, or are those sold separately?
Both are included. Depending on the bundle option selected, you receive either one or two pro applicator guns and one or two cans of foam cleaner alongside the 24 x 750ml foam cans. Check the variant selection on the product page for the exact configuration.
What is the difference between gun grade foam and straw foam?
Gun grade foam is designed to be used with a reusable applicator gun, which gives you precise flow control and lets you clear the nozzle between uses. Straw foam uses a disposable plastic tube and once the can is cracked open you're committed to using it in one go or losing the remainder. For regular trade use, gun grade is considerably more economical and less wasteful.
Can the foam be plastered or painted over once it has cured?
Yes. Once the foam has fully set, which is typically around one hour after application under normal conditions, it can be cut back, plastered over, and painted. It accepts most standard decorating finishes without any special primer, though on exposed foam surfaces a UV-stable paint is worth using if the area sees direct sunlight.
This is a single-component polyurethane expanding foam that cures by reacting with ambient moisture. The gun grade formulation is optimised for use with foam applicator guns rather than straw nozzles, providing improved flow control and a more consistent bead. The cured foam is a closed-cell structure that provides thermal insulation and acoustic damping. It bonds to most porous and semi-porous construction substrates and can be trimmed, sawn and overcoated once fully cured.
