S1243HM TCT Reciprocating Saw Blade 305mm Block & Brick
£11.48£13.78 EX VATINC VAT
305mm tungsten carbide tipped reciprocating saw blade for cutting brick, block and aircrete. HCS body keeps the blade flexible while the TCT edge holds a sharp cut for longer. Sold in packs of 5.
The S1243HM TCT reciprocating saw blade is built specifically for cutting masonry materials that would destroy a standard bi-metal blade in minutes. At 305mm, it has the reach to work through full-thickness blocks without forcing the saw, and the tungsten carbide tipped cutting edge handles the abrasive nature of brick and aircrete that ordinary blades simply cannot cope with. If you’ve ever watched a cheap blade go blunt halfway through a single block, you’ll understand why the right blade matters here.
The blade body is high carbon steel, which gives it a useful degree of flex under load. Masonry cutting puts a lot of lateral stress on a blade, and a body that is too rigid will crack or snap. HCS handles that movement without losing its form, which matters when you’re working at awkward angles or cutting out openings in existing brickwork. The combination of an HCS body with a TCT cutting edge gives you a blade that bends rather than breaks and cuts rather than grinds.
Where the S1243HM TCT Reciprocating Saw Blade Gets Used
This blade is the go-to choice for work involving dense concrete blocks, engineering bricks, common bricks and lightweight aircrete such as Thermalite or Toplite. It’s commonly used by groundworkers and bricklayers cutting blocks to fit, builders creating or enlarging openings in blockwork walls, and demolition contractors breaking out sections of masonry where a disc cutter would be awkward or impractical. The reciprocating saw gives you access that a grinder or cut-off saw cannot, particularly in tight corners or overhead positions.
Compatibility and Shank Fitting
The S1243HM uses a standard universal shank fitting, so it’s compatible with all mainstream reciprocating saws from manufacturers including DeWalt, Makita, Milwaukee, Bosch and Hilti. No adaptor required. Sold in a box of 5 blades, which is a sensible quantity for a working gang where blades get shared across tools or lost to the site skip.
Pro Tip: Let the blade do the work and keep the saw speed high with light forward pressure — forcing a TCT blade into masonry just heats up the tips and dulls them faster than the cutting action itself.
