Rising damp is one of those problems that looks simple on the surface but causes serious damage if you ignore it. SikaMur InjectoCream-100 is Sika’s injectable damp proof cream designed to create a new chemical DPC in masonry walls where the original has failed, or where none ever existed. It’s the first step in the SikaMur Damp Proofing System, and it does the heavy lifting when it comes to stopping moisture travelling upward through the wall.

The cream is injected directly into pre-drilled holes in the mortar course or brick. Once in place, it doesn’t just sit there — it actively diffuses outward through the masonry, gradually spreading to fill the pore structure of the wall and forming a continuous water-repellent barrier. The result is a horizontal zone that blocks capillary rise, which is exactly what rising damp is. No rising water means no salt deposits, no peeling plaster, no tide marks. You still need to sort the plasterwork afterwards, but the source of the problem is dealt with.

Where SikaMur InjectoCream-100 Fits Into the Damp Proofing Process

This product is the starting point. Sika designed the InjectoCream as step one in a structured system, which means it works alongside SikaMur Render and finishing plaster as part of a complete treatment rather than a standalone fix. That matters, because injecting a cream DPC into a wall that’s still plastered with contaminated render won’t solve anything long term. The wall needs to be stripped back, treated, and refinished properly. Done right, the results are lasting.

The 300ml cartridge is designed for use with a standard sealant gun, which makes application straightforward on site. Holes are drilled at regular intervals along the mortar course, cream is injected until full, and the holes are plugged. It’s methodical work rather than difficult work. The cream consistency is thicker than a liquid injection product, which makes it easier to control and less likely to run or drip in vertical applications.

Suitable Wall Types

SikaMur InjectoCream-100 is suitable for solid brick and stone masonry walls. It’s commonly used in period properties, older terraces, and buildings where a modern cavity wall and membrane DPC simply wasn’t part of the original build. Damp proofing contractors, specialist renovation teams, and experienced builders are the main users, though the application process is accessible enough for competent DIYers tackling a single wall.

Pro Tip: Drill your injection holes at a slight downward angle of around 20 degrees so the cream sits in the hole rather than running back out while you work along the course.
