SikaMur InjectoCream-100 is Sika’s injectable damp proof cream designed to create a new chemical DPC in masonry walls where the original has failed, or where none ever existed. It’s the first step in the SikaMur Damp Proofing System, and it does the heavy lifting when it comes to stopping moisture travelling upward through the wall.
The cream is injected directly into pre-drilled holes in the mortar course or brick. Once in place, it doesn’t just sit there — it actively diffuses outward through the masonry, gradually spreading to fill the pore structure of the wall and forming a continuous water-repellent barrier. The result is a horizontal zone that blocks capillary rise, which is exactly what rising damp is. No rising water means no salt deposits, no peeling plaster, no tide marks. You still need to sort the plasterwork afterwards, but the source of the problem is dealt with.

Strip back any existing plaster from the affected wall before starting. You need to work on bare masonry, and the plaster will need replacing with salt-resistant render afterwards anyway. Mark out your injection points along the mortar bed course, typically at 100mm to 120mm centres, and drill holes at a slight downward angle of around 20 degrees. The angle helps the cream stay in the hole while you move along.
Fit the nozzle to the 300ml cartridge and load into a standard sealant gun. Insert the nozzle fully into each hole and inject until the cream reaches the surface, then move to the next. Work methodically along the course. Once all holes are filled, plug them with mortar and allow the cream adequate time to diffuse into the wall before applying any render system. Can I plaster over the wall straight after injection?
Not immediately. The cream needs time to diffuse through the masonry and form the barrier. You also need to apply salt-resistant render as part of the SikaMur system before any finish coat, since the existing wall will likely contain hygroscopic salts from years of moisture movement.
How many cartridges will I need for a typical wall?
It depends on wall thickness and length of the run. Consumption increases with thicker walls because the holes are deeper and hold more cream. As a rough guide, measure your total run and factor in hole spacing of around 110mm, then account for your wall depth. Is SikaMur InjectoCream-100 suitable for stone walls as well as brick?
Yes, it works in solid stone masonry as well as brick. The cream diffuses through the pore structure of the stone in the same way. The main thing to check is that you're dealing with rising damp rather than penetrating damp, since this product is designed specifically to address capillary rise.
