Rather than buying primer, membrane and tape from three different suppliers and hoping it all plays nicely together, this kit gives you a complete, matched system designed to work as one. Everything you need to waterproof walls and floors before tiling is included — no guesswork, no compatibility headaches.

The kit covers 4.5m², which is enough for a standard shower enclosure or a small wet zone. It comes with a 1L waterproof tanking primer to prepare and seal the substrate, a 3L tanking membrane that you brush on in two coats to form a permanently flexible watertight layer, and 5 metres of self-adhesive tanking tape for sealing joints and internal corners. That last bit matters more than people sometimes give it credit for — corners and junctions are where most wet room failures start.

What the Aquaseal Shower Tanking Kit Includes

The drain mat is a detail that sets this kit apart from basic two-part systems. It is a self-adhesive butyl-backed fleece that seats around the drain outlet and accommodates the slight movement that always happens in that area over time. Water finds the gaps you did not think about, and the drain junction is one of the most common ones.

The Aquaseal tanking system is suitable for use on plasterboard, MDF, plywood, cementitious boards, blockwork, concrete and specialist wet room boards, so it works across the range of substrates you are likely to encounter. A user leaflet is included in the kit, which covers the full application sequence from primer through to final membrane coat.
